Glorious Teachers' Day Celebration

Zion International Public School celebrated Teachers' Day in a magnificent and heartfelt ceremony, paying tribute to the unwavering dedication of its educators. The occasion was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest Mr. S. Balachander IAS, Commissioner of Tambaram City Municipal Corporation, and the Guest of Honour Mr. Isaac Livingstone, Managing Director of Sathiyam TV. 7TH ANNUAL SPORTS DAY

7th Annual Sports Day- SPARK’ 24

On August 24, 2024, Zion International Public School triumphantly celebrated its 7th Annual Sports Day, SPARK’ 24.The event was a remarkable success, greatly elevated by the distinguished presence of our esteemed Chief Guest, Mrs. Jeena Zachariah, Chief Office Superintendent of Southern Railway Indian Team Coach and selector - Basketball Asst.Secretary of Thiruvallur District,Basketball Federation of India. Her motivating address and illustrious career in sports served as an inspiration to all, encouraging students to pursue excellence with passion and determination. The day was a showcase of athletic prowess and competitive spirit, with each event reflecting Zion’s unwavering commitment to fostering leadership, discipline, and teamwork among its students. The celebration of sportsmanship and the display of talent made SPARK ‘24 a truly memorable and impactful occasion for the entire school community.

78th INDEPENDENCE DAY

78th Independence Day Celebration

Zion International Public School marked the 78th Independence Day with immense pride and reverence. The event was elevated by the presence of our Chief Guest Mr. Ramachandran, Sub-Inspector of Police,Tambaram, whose inspirational presence made a profound and lasting impact on all who attended.In his compelling address, he underscored the values of service, integrity, and patriotism, urging students to uphold these ideals as future leaders of the nation. Euphoria 24: A Symphony of Triumph

The 7th Annual Day celebration at Zion International Public School was a resounding success, marked by the enthusiastic participation of our vibrant school community. The event, "Euphoria 24," stood as a shining testament to the power of unity, creativity, and dedication.We were profoundly honoured to have Honourable Justice Thiru S. Baskaran, Former Judge of the High Court of Madras, and our distinguished Guest of Honour, Dr. Ranjit Oommen Abraham, HOD of Cyber Law & Justice at Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai, preside over the event. Their esteemed presence and insightful words brought a sense of prestige and depth to the occasion, enhancing the importance and significance of our celebration.The event featured a dazzling array of performances, showcasing the immense talent of our students. From mesmerising dances to powerful dramatic presentations, every act was a celebration of creativity and hard work. National Parliament Day

At Zion ,we are committed to providing our students with a well-rounded education that includes an understanding of democratic values and civic responsibilities. In line with this commitment, we celebrated National Parliament Day with great enthusiasm and educational activities aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of parliamentary procedures and the importance of democratic governance.One of the key activities of the day was a Mock Parliament Session. Students from various grades participated, taking on roles as Members of Parliament, including the Speaker, Prime Minister, Leader of the Opposition, and various ministers. This interactive session provided students with hands-on experience in understanding how parliamentary debates and decision-making processes work.

"Artificial Intelligence: Boon or Bane? - A Debate to Shape the Future"

Our school conducted an electrifying debate competition on the thought-provoking topic of Artificial Intelligence: Boon or Bane? This event was designed to inspire our students to delve into the world of AI, research its far-reaching implications, and articulate their perspectives with confidence and conviction.Through this debate, our students demonstrated exceptional critical thinking, research skills, and oratory prowess. They grappled with the intricacies of AI, presenting well-structured arguments and engaging in respectful discussions. Our debaters showcased their skills in a competitive yet supportive environment, receiving valuable feedback from our esteemed judges. We recognized outstanding performances with awards for the Best Speakers.

Say "No to Drugs"

On June 26th, our school community united to observe the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, a day dedicated to spreading awareness and promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle among our students.Our students showcased their creativity and passion through a poster drawing competition, vividly illustrating the importance of living a drug-free life. Their artwork served as a powerful reminder of the dangers of drug abuse and the benefits of a healthy, substance-free existence.By observing this day, we reaffirm our commitment to nurturing a safe, supportive, and informed school community. We encourage our students, parents, and staff to continue to work together towards a brighter, drug-free future.

Alwin Memorial Rolling Trophy

On 15th July 2024,our school hosted the T20 cricket Tournament for the Alwin Memorial Rolling Trophy, held in memory of our chairman's beloved son.The event was a celebration of sportsmanship, unity, and the enduring spirit of cricket.The cricket match witnessed enthusiastic participation from our sister schools.The match provided an excellent opportunity for our players to showcase their sportsmanship, and determination throughout the game.Our team, Zion International Public School put on an outstanding display throughout the tournament and emerged victorious, claiming the Alwin Memorial Rolling Trophy. The triumph was not just a testament to their cricketing prowess but also to their hard work,dedication and perseverance.

Education Development Day

On 15th July, Zion International Public School celebrated Education Development Day with great enthusiasm. The event was graced by the esteemed chief guest, Ms. T.S.K. Mayuri.M.A, the granddaughter of Perunthalaivar Kamarajar, whose presence added a special significance to the occasion.The celebration commenced with a welcome speech by the school principal, followed by a series of engaging activities. Students showcased their talents through a skit and a series of speeches, highlighting the importance of education and the legacy of Kamarajar. Their performances were met with applause and appreciation from the audience.The day served as a reminder of the vital role of education in personal and societal development.

Yoga Day

On 21st June 2024, students and staff came together to embrace the timeless practice of yoga. Our grounds transformed into a serene space where the art of balance, breathing, and mindfulness was shared and experienced by all. Guided by a skilled instructor, participants engaged in various yoga poses and meditation sessions, discovering the profound benefits of this ancient discipline.

On 14th June 2024, Zion International Public School, proudly held its Investiture Ceremony, a momentous occasion where our newly elected student leaders were officially entrusted with their roles and responsibilities. Students' Council Election

The Students’ council election is vital as it fosters leadership skills, democratic engagement, and responsibility among students. This election provides a platform for the students to voice their concerns and participate in decision-making processes that impact the school environment. By engaging in campaigns and voting, students learn about civic duty, the importance of representation, and the power of their voice. Additionally, elected council members gain experience in leadership roles, teamwork, and problem-solving, preparing them for future responsibilities within their communities and beyond.

2023-24

Primary Science Expo

The science exhibition for primary was conducted on February 3rd. It is an opportunity for students to apply the scientific method to conduct an independent analysis. Young minds develop through the stage of analyzing and through logical thinking. This exhibition kindled the curiosity of the students and helped them dive deep into the ocean of learning. Students had put much time, effort, and thought into the project and showcased static and working models.

Badge Ceremony

The badge ceremony is a memorable occasion for the students who have strived to succeed in their academics.Students from grades I to XII are awarded Scholar and Topper badges. Our Chairman Dr.N.Vijayan and Senior Principal and Dean Mrs.Jayanthi Sivakumar honoured the toppers and scholars of the academic year 2022 -2023.

Republic Day

The 75th Republic Day celebration took place on 26th January at 8:30 am within the school premises. The event was graced by the presence of the honourable chief guest Capt NSS Moorthy, our Honorable Director Mrs. Rachel Georgiana and our Respected Dean and Senior Principal Mrs Jayanthy Sivakumar, welcomed and felicitated the honourable guest.The national flag was unfurled by the esteemed chief guest Capt NSS Moorthy. Melodious patriotic songs centered around national integration, speech and excellent dance performances were presented by the students. The day’s celebrations concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by the National Anthem.

Grandparents Day

Grandparents are the family’s greatest treasure and have always been the family's strongest foundation since ages.They provide a family with a special bond through their tender love and care. To honour them we celebrated Grandparents Day on 27th January 2024 at ZIPS Auditorium. Mrs.Thomeena Arokianathan Rtd. Deputy Registrar was the Chief Guest for the day.

Pongal Celebrations

The festival of Pongal is held dear particularly by the farming community as it marks the end of harvesting season.Pongal Celebrations at our school was an extraordinary day with a typical village Pongal celebration.Our lobby and reception were adorned with flowers and thoranam, sugarcane stacked to grace the occasion. The various celebrations and events at the school were designed in a manner to evoke and expose the students’ innermost talents.The pongal celebrations started with our traditional pongal song and had various colourful programmes. Day ended with our students displaying shops

Scouts and Guides Saplings planting Activity

Planting trees helps our biodiversity ensure the supply of oxygen for the next generation and provides us with various rich sources. Scouts and guides conducted a sapling event held on January 10th,2024 at Alathur.Our esteemed guests included Mr.PA.Naresh, Joint Director (Personal) Directorate of school education, Tamil Nadu, Mrs.Angu Lakshmi, Chief Educational officer, Chengalpattu and our Chairman Dr.N.Vijayan, State Treasurer, The Bharat Scouts and Guides Tamilnadu were present for the event. 347 Scouts & Guides were involved in this activity with the help of a club master, scout master & guide captain and 300 saplings were planted by the scouts & guides students.Students enjoyed the activity and learnt the importance of growing trees.

Season of Christmas

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The season of joy was celebrated with a lot of fun and excitement. Our tiny tots had displayed a nativity scene and a grand Christmas programme was organised on 23rd December 2023, in the school MSR auditorium.The school was beautifully decorated and left a Christmas spark. The programme started with a word of prayer. A beautiful skit followed depicting the scenes of the nativity of Jesus Christ interspersed with melodious carols sung by the choir. The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was visible on everyone's faces. It was a joyous and amusing programme for the entire teacher fraternity.

Intra School Christmas Competition

Zion International hosted an intra-school Christmas Carol competition on 1st Dec at 4 pm in MSR Auditorium. Rev. Leonard Baskar Pastor CSI Diocese (Retd) presided over the event as the chief guest. We had Mrs Carol Harris,Director of Tieke, Mr. Rudolph Godson, Music director and producer in Indian cinema, Mr Felix Johnson Davidson, Organist and Choir trainer as judges for the event. Our students participated in the Carol competition and were declared the “Winner of the competition”.We had a grand prize giving ceremony. This amazing carol competition was witnessed by our parents and teachers.

Trip to Yercaud

A Field trip was organised to the mountains of Yercaud on November 24th for the students of grade XII. It was an opportunity for teachers and students to bond with each other. Students learnt basic rules of outdoor skills.Spending time in nature without their families and electronic gadgets brought the children together and gave them lifetime memories to cherish forever.

Book Fair

Book fairs play a huge role in encouraging reading habit. A four day book fair was organized in our campus from October 10th to October 13th. A wide range of books of all literary genres were displayed in the book fair. Children and the staff members enjoyed the fair and selected the books they wished to read. The opportunity to browse books of so many varieties and in a large number at a time was a wonderful experience for the children and parents who visited the fair.

A visit to a Farm

On the school campus, a farm set was created.It was an exciting visit and students were able to relate to their in-school learning.The students were excited to see some livestock which were brought in to add lots of fun and excitement to their learning. Students learnt about different farm animals and their roles on the farm.It was a fascinating experience for the little ones.

No Bag Day - Primary

The concept of ‘No Bag Day’ is to support the kids in having fun while they study and to increase opportunities and capability for observation-based learning.Students ability to learn is enhanced when they have access to a nurturing and stress-free environment. Various activities for primary students were conducted like Protect Your Environment Sing-Along, Exploring the School Campus , Inspiring Leaders - Fingerprint activity, Aerobics - Zumba Session, Knowing Indian states and their culture.

Children's Day Celebration

Our Cubs and Bulbuls have arranged various activities to make the children’s day event special. Students took part in art and craft,drawing and painting competitions. They expressed their thoughts with the help of colours and created best out of waste.

Colour’s Week - Kindergarten

Our kindergarten celebrated the colour’s day for the students of kindergarten with the aim of inculcating the beauty of colours in kids. A very important part of learning during kindergarten years is identification and recognition of colours. Each day children and the staff came in a particular coloured outfit. The classrooms were decorated with appropriate colours to welcome our children.The little ones enjoyed their days and learned about colours in their own way.

Teacher’s Day Celebration

“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.” The Chief guest of the day was Smt Sharanya Ari, IAS., Deputy Commissioner (Education) GCC. The Auditorium vibrated with power packed and sensational performances of the teachers.The melodious songs, the heart throbbing dances and plays made the day the most memorable one for the teachers following a sumptuous dinner. The day concluded by honouring the teachers for their valuable contributions to the school.

Annual Sports Day 2023

Champions aren’t made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them – a desire, a dream, a vision. Sports has become an integral element of present day education. The 6th Annual Sports Day was celebrated amidst a lot of fun and frolic. Mr R Prabaharan,Deputy Superintendent of Police was the chief guest of the event.There were track and field races for the students displaying their vigour and athletic talents. They also presented various drills, yoga and aerobics enchanting everyone with their movements. The chief guest awarded medals to the winners and winning house Kalpana Chawla House.The chief guest emphasized the importance of sports in a child’s life and motivated the young generation to participate in the sports.

Educational Trip - Sea Shell Museum

On July 21, 2023, students of Grades IV and V visited the Indian Sea Shell Museum. The Sea Shell Museum, Pearl Museum, Aqua Museum, Mini Asia, Mineral Museum, Dino Park, 3D Art Gallery, and Horror Museum were among the eight museums they visited. The children were attracted to several varieties of fish.They had the chance to touch and feel fishes like lobster and starfish.

Educational Trip - A day at Vayal

In order to educate our students, we firmly believe in using a holistic approach By engaging the students in fun filled physical activities without compromising on knowledge delivery. India is an agricultural country. However, most students lack the necessary knowledge and exposure to farming practices, because they are raised in an urban environment. We took our students of grade VII & VIII on a field trip to an agricultural farm "Vayal" on 21.07.2023. Our students observed every step of crop cultivation as well as the tools used in the field. Plowing, bullock cart rides, poultry, cultivation, milking, and many more instructive and entertaining activities were available to the students. Students became much aware of the significance of food resources and the "farm-to-table" concept. All our students were thrilled with the tour experience after taking a walk across the paddy field and enjoying the fresh air amidst the sound of the birds . They had a comprehensive understanding of how to protect these natural riches and use them in the future.

Kindergarten activities

We realize that Kindergarten students have a hard time “sitting still” because they need to be engaged with everything around them. We engage our kids with hands-on activities that keep them entertained and make them learn in a joyous manner..They are learning different things within the same activity/lesson/game.

Intramural sports meet - Alwin Memorial Sports Complex

Zion believes in holistic development of the students in all walks.Sports and games form an integral part of holistic development and provides an excellent atmosphere for the same. The various facilities offered by the school in the playground are worth mentioning. The facilities for skating, cricket, football, basketball, kho-kho, badminton, volleyball and athletics are put to best use by the school by giving excellent practice to train the students as well as conducting intra and inter school tournaments.Two such intra school events were conducted on the 8th and 15th of July 2023. Events conducted Events - under 14 category badminton & kho - kho on July 08, 2023 Events - under 14, 17 & 19 football for boys, under 14,17 & 19 throwball for girls on July 15, 2023.

Educational Development Day

On 14th July 2023, Kamarajar’s Birthday was celebrated in our school campus as Education development day.The program started with the lighting of the lamp by our chief guest Dr K Arasendran. Our Dean and Senior Principal Mrs Jayanthi Sivakumar welcomed the gathering. Our students delivered a speech and poem about the “Contributions of Kamarajar to our society’’. Students of Grade-I excellently recited the “Quotes of Kamarajar’’. A dance was performed by the students. The chief guest delivered his valuable thoughts to the students.

Investiture Ceremony

"A leader is the one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way." - John C. Maxwell Zion International Public School held its Investiture Ceremony on 4th July 2023. Our Student Council members and Co-Curricular Club in-charges were vested their titles on this day by our honourable Chairman. The elected leaders of our school took an oath promising to accept the crowned responsibilities associated with their role.

Student Council Elections

The election for the Students’ Council was held at Zion International Public School on 26th June 2023. The Student Council is to provide a platform for the students to develop leadership qualities by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to the school’s spirit and community welfare, the Student’ Council remains as the voice of the student body. The office bearers of the council were elected by conducting a free and fair election following all the procedures as carried out during the general elections in India right from filing nominations to declarations of results.

Yoga Day

Zion International Public School highlighted the significance of yoga and meditation for students on International Day of Yoga. About 39 of our students participated in the International yoga day held at AFS,Tambaram. The logo for International Yoga Day was formed by the students of Zion International while performing various asnas being dressed in 4 colours representing Mother Earth’s four elements—water, fire, and sky and land.

Intra School Art & Craft Competition

Zion International Public School took the initiative of organizing its First Intra School Art and Craft Competition on 3rd December 2022 . This was a step towards nurturing and encouraging students’ creative skills. The activity was enthusiastically embraced by students from our ZION and ALWIN Group of schools. Students showcased their talents in Painting , Model Making and Rangoli competitions under the theme - FIFA World Cup 2022. We witnessed great enthusiasm and dedication among the Participants during the event.

Experiencing the launch of PSLV-C54, Sriharikota

Students visit to Sriharikota - Launch of PSLV-C54.On November 26, 2022, our school's field trip to the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR),of ISRO in Sriharikota, allowed students to gain first-hand knowledge of the rocket launch procedure. PSLV, in its 56th flight, successfully lifted off with nine satellites including 1117kg weighing EOS-06 (Oceansat-03), an earth observation satellite.

Constitution Day

Every year on November 26th, our nation observes Constitution Day, often referred to as "Samvidhan Divas”, to commemorate the signing of the Indian Constitution. On this important day the students were made to assemble and the preamble to the constitution was read out reaffirming our dedication in upholding it. Students were also explained the priceless rights and duties of the citizen of this great nation as specified in the constitution, using PPTs and videos on the smart panel

Mini marathon

To create awareness on diabetes, the First Mini Marathon- 5 kms from Zion Matric Hr.Sec. school, Selaiyur to Zion International public school , Mapeddu was successfully conducted on 19th Nov, 2022 by Zion and Alwin group of schools. At 6.15 am, Mr. N. Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Tambaram City Police, signaled the start of the marathon in which about 140 students of grade IX and X participated.

Vigilance Awareness Programme

Vigilance Awareness Week was observed from October 31 to November 6, 2022, under the banner "Corruption free India for a developed nation."Students from grade VI to IX displayed their abilities in a variety of competitions that were held as part of Vigilance Awareness Week by the EMPLOYEES' PROVIDENT FUND ORGANIZATION, REGIONAL OFFICE, TAMBARAM. On November 17, 2022 the citizens of the future pledged to fight corruption at the Felicitation programme. Mr. Himanshu Kumar, Regional P.F. Commissioner-I, Regional office, Tambaram, congratulated the awardees and distributed the prizes.

Children’s Day Celebration

This day was celebrated with much enthusiasm and joy on 14th November 2022. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, our Cha-cha, was remembered through various performances by the children. The budding kids of nursery were dressed in vibrant colours spreading their happiness.

Badge Ceremony

As the kids are recognized for their exceptional academic accomplishments, the Badge Ceremony is the most eagerly awaited event for both the students and their parents. Students who performed exceedingly well in the terminal examination are awarded with a scholar badge and the toppers with Topper badge. The students are highly motivated and inspired to perform even better .

Lab Inauguration

The role of laboratories becomes a key component in understanding Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The new lab was inaugurated by our Director Mrs. Rachel Georgiana in the presence of our Chairman Dr Vijayan and Vice Chairman Mr. Aldous Huxley on 27th October 2022. The laboratories are very spacious, well ventilated and well equipped with highly advanced apparatus with neatly designed experimental tables for the children to have hands- on experience of what they learnt in theory.

Diwali Celebrations

On the eve of Diwali an awareness programme was conducted by the teachers on October 21, 2022, to educate the children on safety measures to be followed while bursting crackers. Teachers presented an eye opening demonstration to the children. The guidelines to be followed while bursting crackers was enacted in an elaborate way.

Police commemoration day

The idea behind observing this day is to remember the sacrifices of those police officials in the line of duty. Essay and Painting competitions were held at school, which was organized by the Police Department and the winners were felicitated by Dr. A. Amalraj ADGP (Commissioner of Tambaram). Our Chairman Dr. N. Vijayan along with our Vice- chairman Mr. V.Aldous R Huxley and our Director Mrs. Rachel Georgiana showed their support to the cause and congratulated the participants.

Adult Leader Training Course - Pallava Mandalam District

A Basic training Course for Adult Leaders to train students under different sections that includes Cubs, Bulbuls, Scouts and Guides was organized by the Pallava Mandalam District at Zion International Public School from 24.09.2022 to 30.09.2022 under the leadership of Dr.N. Vijayan, Chairman of Zion & Alwin group of Schools, State Treasurer, The Bharat Scouts and Guides Tamil Nadu and District Chief Commissioner of Pallava Mandalam District.

Annual sports day

Sports day promotes sportsmanship in all the students. It helps in keeping mind and body fit which in turn enables them to perform well in their academics. Furthermore, Sports helps in building the character and personality of a person. The Annual Sports Meet was celebrated with great enthusiasm where we could witness students showcasing their talents in various track and field events as well as yoga and martial arts. The day ended well by announcing the overall championship award.

Independence Day

Independence Day has a special place in the hearts of every Indian. Not only does it symbolize the celebration of the wonderful years of freedom, but also extends an emphatic message of the progressive future of our country. The 75th Independence Day of our motherland India, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor by our young generation. Mr. M. Karunanidhi, Retd. DC gave a motivational speech for the wellbeing of the future generation.

Investiture ceremony

Investiture ceremony signifies the reliance and confidence that the school holds on the newly selected office bearers. Donning the mantle of accountability, they also pledge to bestow their duties to the best of their abilities. Having said that we have our four houses and the other clubs which take up their responsibilities to strive towards excellence.

Concept exploration day

Children learn about various concepts in their subjects through exploration of both indoor and outdoor environments using their five senses. These hands-on kindergarten experiments and activities take advantage of children's boundless curiosity.

Colours week

Colours week was celebrated to introduce kids into the mesmerising realm of colours. A very important part of learning during Kindergarten years is the identification and recognition of colours. The children felt lively and cheerful and were able to create a cognitive link between colours, clues and words. Hands-on practical learning was initiated by helping children to sort and classify objects based on colours.

My Family

Students spoke about their family members and had a good time enacting. They made their own family tree. The importance of family bonding was taught to them through this activity.This is the perfect theme for exploring relationships with children.

The kindergarten children were introduced to the Topic “Our Neighbourhood” through an activity.Children dressed as community helpers like Chef, Police, Fireman, Lawyer, Potter, and Teacher gave awesome speeches on their roles and responsibilities in the community. Pictures drawn by the children were also displayed.

Awareness program against drugs

News7 Tamil – Anbu Paalam along with our Beloved Chairman Dr. N. Vijayan initiated “NO TO DRUGS” Awareness program for students of Grade – IX, X, XI and XII on 15th July, 2022. Dr. A. Amalraj ADGP (Commissioner of Tambaram) and Mr. Jose Thangaiah, IPS (Deputy Commissioner, Tambaram) presided over the event for creating an awareness on the ill-effects of drugs in a comprehensive manner. An oath was taken by the students against drugs.

Educational Trip - Sea Shell Museum

On July 21, 2023, students of Grades IV and V visited the Indian Sea Shell Museum. The Sea Shell Museum, Pearl Museum, Aqua Museum, Mini Asia, Mineral Museum, Dino Park, 3D Art Gallery, and Horror Museum were among the eight museums they visited. The children were attracted to several varieties of fish.They had the chance to touch and feel fishes like lobster and starfish.
